From personal experience and testimonies, We have discovered that apprentices, students and other young people (who may be undiagnosed neurodivergent) could benefit from reasonable adjustments in study or work. However, our own experiences have shown that reasonable adjustments aren't just unknown by most, but also unused due to the vast amount of possible adjustments on offer. Due to this,individuals don't get the help they need, leading to a 47% dropout rate.

To help tackle this growing issue, we have developed “Synergy”, a system designed to suggest the most appropriate reasonable adjustments based on the individual's needs. This system will help managers and teachers start conversations to determine the best course of action to take to help make their students and apprentices feel more comfortable. During creation, we have worked with (Bernica homes, Northumberland county council, The apprentice ambassador network, Newcastle university, The department for work and pensions, Newcastle city learning and the Oliver Wyman Group) to help refine and modify our product to be as useful as possible. We have had tremendous feedback from everyone, ranging from immense praise of the idea to the cleverness of our system.

The next steps for Synergy is to incorporate a reasonable adjustments matrix to make it easier to draw down additional funding for the individuals who need it most.

Our system is developed with readability and accessibility in mind. We've made sure everything is at a level 2 readability, ensuring everyone can understand what is being suggested. We've also stayed away from medical language. Our goal is to not label anyone and by doing so, we make the whole system more accessible.
